How it Works

Membership is open to Broadview Heights residents, members of the Chippewa Garden Club, and people employed by a business within the City of Broadview Heights. Members are assigned a plot to grow vegetables, herbs and flowers organically – no experience necessary – we’ll help you get started. We also maintain communal areas such as a Pollinator Plot and Donation Plot, and a compost station that all members can enjoy, as well as a rain barrel, and standing plots for members with limited mobility. We are an organic garden and will provide resources as to what organic products are acceptable in maintaining the plots. There is a monthly “Garden Workday” the second Saturday each month – It’s a great way to learn, meet new friends and share work.

Becoming a Member:

  • Registration for current member gardeners opens in January. New member gardeners will be assigned plots after March 1st according to availability.
  • Sign up to be on the waiting list at any time – email greeneacresweb@gmail.com
  • As a community garden, we require members to volunteer 2 hours per plot each season to maintain the garden.
  • The cost of a plot is $30 for the first plot and $20 for a second plot per season.
